Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Tahir Iqbal has won PP-139 by-election. The seat has fallen vacant following the death of Rana Afzal Hussain, brother of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, in Sheikhupura.
Tahir Iqbal secured 44,535 votes while PTI’s Ejaz Bhatti secured 20,093 votes. Former PML-N candidate Mian Rauf got 6,695 votes while TLP leader Farooq-ul-Hasan bagged 7,196 votes.
Around 7,150 Punjab police personnel were deployed for 124 polling stations. The total number of voters in the constituency were 193,285.
